Hi Ok if the EGR cooler was leaking then there would be a drop in the coolant level Obvious I cannot see how thick etc the smoke/smog is It sounds like overfuelling due to the symptoms of diesel knock etc It would be worth removing the leak off pipes to clarify if this return valve could be the problems this forces fuel back to the injectors instead of smoothly outthe return to pump Also these
